Askøy Seilforening welcomes you and here follows some early information for the International Yngling Class Open World Championship 2026:
Save your dates – 1st.-8th. August 2026
- Entries, results and official notice board will be at Manage2sail. The event is established in M2S and information will be added there as soon as ready.
- Travelling: Several options exists and at present ferries are Hirtshals (DK) to Bergen or Holland Norway Lines connections from Emden, Cuxhaven or Eemshaven to Kristiandsand. Also Hirtshals to Kristiansand is an option, as well as road route via Gothenburg and Oslo. Kristiansand-Bergen and Oslo-Bergen are both approx. 8hrs drive.
- Accomodation: Askøy Seilforening will have several accommodation options available at the yacht club. Bookings is planned organized through Manage2Sail once ready planned.
- Race area: Some might recall the 2015 Worlds Championship at Askøy, and as for the harbor and facilities, also the race area will be the same or similar. In addition, planned usage of drone buoys will make race organizer more flexible and quicker to adjust race courses according to racing needs, even in very deep and otherwise tricky conditions for normal buoy anchoring.
